Sarath Suon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is committed to providing empathetic and culturally sensitive mental health services. She works alongside her clients in their journey of healing and growth by helping to build awareness, self-compassion and nurturing resiliency. Sarath specializes in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and personal growth.
Sarath received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Education & Applied Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. She has provided clinical and therapeutic services in school-based, home-based, outpatient, crisis stabilization units, and correctional facilities. Sarath has experience working with adults, teens, transitional age youth, LGBTQIA+, and the BIPOC community to provide individual, family and group therapy.
Sarath’s approach is integrative, holistic, and strengths-based. She perceives each person as a whole in mind, body, spirit, and collaborates with her clients to work through issues that may be causing blockages in their lives. Sarath is passionate about diversity, inclusivity, equity and social justice. As a therapist of color, Sarath would like to help destigmatize mental health in communities of color and support them in their process of healing from intergenerational trauma.
